Financial Security Olympiad
An olympiad organised by Rosfinmonitoring (the Russian financial monitoring service) together with the International Network Institute and RUDN University, in the field of financial security: anti-money-laundering and counter-terrorist financing, plus economics, law and information security. Winners and prize-winners receive admission benefits at the Network Institute's universities — subject to the terms and the competition result.
An extra benefit for the Master's track: winners and prize-winners may apply through the Russian Government quota path for Master's programs 2026/27 — subject to the list's and the quota's conditions
Official file (PDF) ↗The only entry point is registering for the qualifying stage (24 February – 14 March 2026); everything after it is for those who passed it. The new season opens in February — sign up with us and we'll send you the alert.
International students are eligible according to the official list (the Russian Ministry of Science and Higher Education's 2026/27 Master's list). Admission benefits themselves vary by programme, track and admission rules.
🎓 A university student? You can take part while studying in Russia or in a “partner country” (Bachelor's years 1–3 · Specialist 1–4 · Master's year 1).
🏫 A school student? That track is tied to Russian education programmes (years 8–10) — so it is not open to any school student outside the Russian system.
↳ The list of partner countries and the exact wording are on the official participation-conditions page — check it before you prepare a single document.
What is this olympiad?
An international olympiad in the field of “financial security” — meaning anti-money-laundering and counter-terrorist financing, and the economics, law and information security that go with them. It is organised by Rosfinmonitoring (the Federal Financial Monitoring Service) together with the International Network Institute for Financial Security and RUDN University.
It splits into two completely separate tracks: one for school students and one for university students — each with its own conditions, subjects and dates. The final stage is held in Krasnoyarsk.
What do you gain?
These benefits are subject to the terms and the competition result — they are not automatic and not guaranteed for any participant. The exact privileges are set out in the “Положение” on the official documents page.
How do you apply?
The official documents published at rosfinolymp.ru/documents are the complete reference for the participation procedure. These are the documents the organisers publish:
The published selection step is submitting a motivation letter (мотивационное письмо) within the dates above. The letter's format, the templates and the detailed instructions are in the official documents — open them from the site directly so you see the latest approved version.

🔴 Read this timetable the right way round: the only entry point for a new participant is the qualifying stage. Every stage below it is for people who already passed it — the furthest date on this list is the least relevant one to you. The timetable is copied from the official documents page (rosfinolymp.ru/documents) at the time of writing. Any change happens there first — check the site before you take any step.

Who can take part? (read this carefully)
🎓 University students: Russian and foreign nationals studying, at the time of the qualifying stage, on Bachelor's programmes (years 1–3), Specialist programmes (1–4) or Master's programmes (year 1) — at higher education institutions in Russia or in “partner countries”. 🏫 School students: Russian nationals in years 8–10, or foreign nationals studying the corresponding Russian education programmes, or students of secondary vocational education (years 1–2) who are Russian nationals. ⚠️ Mind the difference: the university track is open to those studying in Russia or in partner countries, but the school track is tied to Russian education programmes. If you're not sure whether your country or institution qualifies, ask the organisers before you prepare your documents — the official list is on rosfinolymp.ru.

💬I'm not in Russia — can I take part?
If you're a university student: the official conditions cover those studying in Russia and in partner countries (Bachelor's 1–3, Specialist 1–4, Master's year 1). If you're a school student: the conditions are tied to Russian education programmes. The list of partner countries and the details are on rosfinolymp.ru — check them before you prepare anything.
💬When exactly can I enter?
The entry point is the qualifying stage — 24 February to 14 March. That window has closed for the 2026 season. The later dates you'll see on the official timetable (motivation letters up to 2 September, the final in late September) are for participants who already passed the qualifier — they are not a second door. The next season opens in February.
💬What is the first step to take part?
The published selection step is submitting a motivation letter within the set window (university students: 1–11 June 2026 · school students: 1 June – 2 September 2026). But note the order: that step is for people who have already passed the qualifying stage. For a new participant, the first step is registering for the qualifier in February.
💬Does winning mean guaranteed admission?
No. The benefits are determined by the terms and the competition result, and they vary by university and programme. The olympiad is competitive and there is no guarantee — check the “Положение” for the exact privileges.
💬Where is the final stage?
In Krasnoyarsk, from 27 September to 2 October 2026 per the official published timetable. There is also a list of documents required to take part in the final on the documents page.
Everything here is taken from the official site rosfinolymp.ru and from the regulation approved by the organising committee protocol of 3 February 2025 — read in full on 27 July 2026, and the clause numbers on this page come from its text. So the procedures are most likely unchanged, but the dates shift every season. The olympiad is competitive and not guaranteed, and dates and conditions change — the official site is always the final reference, so check it before any step.
