The “I Study in Ulyanovsk” Student Olympiad
An international olympiad run by Ulyanovsk State Technical University (УлГТУ) on its own platform, aimed at final-year Bachelor's students. The same platform also hosts a separate olympiad for school students — this page is about the student one only, so mind the difference.

International students are eligible according to the official list (the Russian Ministry of Science and Higher Education's 2026/27 Master's list). Admission benefits themselves vary by programme, track and admission rules.
In the latest verified edition (2025/26), winners were entitled to a funded seat within the Russian government quota.

What is this olympiad?
«Международная студенческая олимпиада «Я учусь в Ульяновске»» — an international olympiad run by Ulyanovsk State Technical University (УлГТУ) on its own learning platform, held remotely through an account on that same site.
The platform says more than 6,000 people have taken part in the platform's olympiads since 2019 — that's the two olympiads combined (school + student), not the student one alone.
🔴 And here's the difference you need to know: the platform hosts two separate olympiads in two independent sections — «Для школьников» for school students, leading to admission benefits for a Bachelor's, and «Для студентов» for Bachelor's students, which is what this page is about. The two timetables are completely different and the dates are not the same.

The olympiad's own page mentions “benefits (бонусы) when applying” at UlSTU, and the Russian government's official portal says prize-winners of university olympiads may receive the government quota. Admission is competitive and depends on available places — check the full conditions on the official site.

Who can take part?
🎓 The official text in the students section says: final-year students studying on higher education programmes — Bachelor's programmes (студенты, обучающиеся на последнем курсе по программам бакалавриата). 🌍 The olympiad is described as “international” and the platform is aimed at both Russian and foreign nationals — participation is remote, through an account on the site. ⚠️ If you're still in your second or third year: the published condition speaks specifically about the final year. Check the olympiad's official regulation before you register.

💬I'm in my third year of a Bachelor's — can I take part?
The published condition speaks specifically about students in their final year of a Bachelor's. If you're in an earlier year, check the olympiad's official regulation or ask the organising committee before registering — we can't confirm an exception that isn't written in the source.
💬Does winning mean a free Master's at UlSTU?
Winning opens the door to applying, and admission is competitive. Two separate things:
1) The olympiad's page mentions “benefits (бонусы) when applying” to UlSTU programmes.
2) And the Russian government's official portal (studyinrussia.ru) says, in as many words, that “prize-winners of intellectual competitions organised by universities may receive the quota”, and that there is an official list of approved olympiads on the Ministry of Science's site (russia-edu.minobrnauki.gov.ru).
So the route exists and is open — but the place is decided by the competition and the available spots, not automatically. Check that this olympiad is on the official list before you rely on it.
💬Does participation cost money?
The official text on the platform says participation is free (на безвозмездной основе). Any payment request from a third party has nothing to do with the organisers — check the official site.
