What you need to have completed

A doctoral degree (Candidate of Sciences, Doctor of Sciences or PhD) — and you must already hold it at the time you submit your portfolio, not be about to obtain it.

Open Doors doesn't publish a list of subjects for this track — because selection here happens at the level of the research project, not the subject. 📌 So your most important document is the "list of research projects" published on each subject page. That is the actual equivalent of a subject list. And note that the video presentation has its own separate deadline: 6 December 2026 — two weeks before Stage 2 ends.

Three stages: the portfolio competition, then a competition based on a video presentation of your research results, then interviews with research project leaders (final).

Not a study place — a job offer as a researcher at one of the organising universities.

You become a winner if at least one research project leader agrees to employ you.
